Collaborating with Support305
Support305, a Miami-based AV and IT integration firm, reached out to Mainline Connects for support on a complex and large-scale Q-SYS deployment at 3 Times Square, a 30-story office tower in the heart of New York City. Highly experienced in AV installation and design, Support305 engaged Mainline for our deep Q-SYS expertise to ensure the project met the highest standards.
We joined the project during the design phase, consulting on equipment selection, reviewing drawings and schematics, and conducting multiple design review calls to help shape the system before installation began. Our work focused on the building’s 16th-floor amenities level, which included a variety of conferencing spaces, common areas, and a digital signage zone in the main foyer. After installation, our team traveled onsite for commissioning and conducted hands-on training with the end users to ensure they felt confident operating the system.
Project Challenges and Solutions
The floor layout included six AV-enabled conferencing spaces, several of which were divisible — including one large three-way divisible room and another two-way configuration. A traditional Q-SYS audio combiner would only solve part of the puzzle; additional custom programming was required to manage camera switching, video routing, and control logic across multiple configurations.
Mainline Connects developed fully customized automation for these divisible spaces, ensuring each room could operate independently or in combination as needed, without sacrificing user simplicity. The system design centered around a Q-SYS Core 610 processor, supporting over 60 Q-SYS peripherals and more than 40 third-party devices, all natively controlled within the Q-SYS environment.
We also designed custom user interfaces tailored to the client’s needs and branding, deployed across seven iPads and four Q-SYS TSC touchscreens throughout the floor. Features included audiovisual presentation control, background music with scheduling, Q-SYS automatic camera preset recall, and voice lift for enhanced clarity during meetings and events.
The Outcome
Mainline Connects delivered a fully commissioned, scalable AV system designed to meet the needs of a modern office environment. With seamless control over more than 100 devices, intuitive interfaces for both staff and visitors, and smart automation that adapts to room configurations, the system reflects the sophistication of the 3 Times Square space itself.
From early design input to on-site commissioning and user training, our team provided end-to-end support—ensuring the final product not only worked, but worked beautifully.
